Growing supply of Envy apples annually

Organic Envy™ apples have achieved the position as one of the top-rated¹ apples in the organics segment. Over the past year, distribution of the organic apple through retail partners has significantly increased, as well as an extension to the range of pack sizes available, backed by increased supply volumes each year to meet consumer demand.

“We are well positioned to satisfy the increased consumer demand for these apples,” says Chris Willet, VP growing and sales operations T&G Global North America. “Our growers from across Washington state and the southern hemisphere are producing high yields of fruit from orchards that are well established in some of the best apple growing regions.”

Over the past year, distribution of the organic apple through retail partners has significantly increased.

Grown in both northern and southern hemispheres ensures a 365 supply of the apples with product available to consumers year-round. Since arriving in the U.S. market 13 years ago, Envy apples have developed a solid consumer base and are achieving steady growth year on year, across conventional and organic varieties.

Organic Envy attracts a high-value shopper segment, winning in spend per unit, spend per trip, buy rate and basket size vs other apple varieties¹.

Created in New Zealand, these apples have a delicate, sweet balanced flavor and aroma, a crunch and red skin with a touch of golden blush. The slow-to-brown flesh is a welcome attribute amongst apple shoppers and a differentiator vs other apple varieties. Envy apples are promoted across multiple channels and integrated into recipes to encourage new ways to enjoy them.

Envy delivers year-round opportunities for retailers to build category sales with an everyday premium apple. The U.S.-based marketing team deploys a marketing strategy to activate the brand through multiple consumer touchpoints, integrating campaigns at the retail level.

“Envy makes up nearly a quarter of branded, high-flavor apple sales volume¹. High consumer rankings are one small indicator of the brand’s consistent and steadfast popularity, which has been skyrocketing over the past 52-week sales period. Achieving a 28 percent increase in volume across the United States, it holds the eighth most popular spot in the U.S. apple category,” says Willet.

The apples are distributed by North American sales agents including Oppy, Rainier Fruit Company and CMI Orchards, under the leadership and support of the local brand marketing team of T&G Global.
