Alex Boeken (Freshland) on the Qarry electric cargo scooter:

"I was amazed at the loading capacity"

Delivering fruits and vegetables to a restaurant or store in the city center is often quite tricky, expensive, and inconvenient. Lorenzo Engelen and his team devised a handy solution: Qarry. The specially developed electric cargo scooters offer the load volume of a small van but are as nimble as a tuk-tuk. Has a new trend been born?

At first glance, the vehicles remind one of the classic and charming Piaggio Ape. However, Qarry is hyper-modern, Lorenzo reveals. "We wanted to create electric 'vans' to effortlessly navigate the city. Especially for entrepreneurs and the transport sector, because we believe that free and clean entrepreneurship go very well together. Without fuss, emissions, and high costs."

Small, but noticeable
Do not be fooled by Qarry's cute appearance. With a powerful battery and a lightweight frame, the van has a range of 75 to 150 kilometers. Yet, maneuverability has not been sacrificed, and parking is no problem, acknowledge also the first customers. "It saves a lot of time on a delivery route in the city. And it attracts a lot of attention," says Wessel Eriks, owner of Jouw Groenteman. You can personalize your Qarry as you wish. A moving billboard for your business cannot be bad, right?"

Surprising loading space
Alex Boeken, owner of Freshland, is enthusiastic as well: "An incredible number of crates will fit in the loading space. I was amazed at the loading capacity." You have arrived at your destination? Now, you do not have to park 100 meters away; you can just stop right in front of the restaurant and unload. "Even in the most cramped Amsterdam alleys or between stalls at the busy Albert Cuyp market, the Qarry comes through." Extra convenient: you can drive a Qarry from the age of 16.

Qarry was born on the Automotive Campus in Helmond and supported by a team of automotive engineers. So, there's no lack of technical knowledge and gadgets. "Reliability is very important to us," Lorenzo reveals. "We did not take shortcuts in production to save money because reliability comes first."

"And thanks to the built-in hardware in every Qarry, you can, for example, see exactly where it has been, how fast it was driven, and whether this was the optimal route. By storing and analyzing all trip data, we offer you a clear overview of your trips and show you how you can work even better."

Test the Qarry yourself
"We have made our product as accessible as possible," Lorenzo finally explains. "So, you can lease your Qarry, where you are completely taken care of with service and all. But purchasing and personalizing is also possible. We are happy to meet interested parties who want to take a test drive."
