Irrigación Olmos contributed 65% of Lambayeque's agro-exports in 2022

At the end of 2022 and for the third consecutive year, Lambayeque's agro-exports grew steadily, driven by agro-industrial companies installed on new land belonging to Irrigación Olmos. General manager of Pro Olmos (an association that brings together the companies installed on new land in Olmos), José Lecaros de Marzi, explained that during 2022 the contribution of Irrigación Olmos to Lambayeque exports reached 65% of the total shipments from Lambayeque, mainly driven by the blueberry harvest, which continued to have a growing production.

Of the total blueberry exported by the Lambayeque region, 99.74% (66,224 tons) were produced in Tierras Nuevas of the Olmos Irrigation. Something similar happened in the same period with fresh grapes, with 44.58% being the contribution of the agro-industrial companies of Irrigación Olmos to the region's exports, which is equivalent to 16,216 tons. In 2022, it also contributed 80% (87,780 tons) to the production of Hass avocado.
