"More and more operators use battery-operated tools"

Battery-operated tools are becoming increasingly popular with growers because they are practical, lightweight and versatile. In addition to being excellent solutions to increase yields with a lower effort for operators, they also respect the environment because they produce zero emissions.

So no smoke, very low acoustic pollution, a lower weight and limited maintenance are just some of the strengths of the battery-operated equipment used in agriculture, which translate into a lower environmental impact and energy and economic savings.

Perfarelalbero, a well-known e-commerce website for agricultural products which has always cared about the environment and operator safety, is registering a great interest for these modern and effective tools, so much so that its offer includes a wide range of products. FreshPlaza has talked about it with Salvatore Valicenti (in the photo below), manager of the professional machine and equipment department.

"There has been a considerable increase in the orders of battery-operated equipment throughout Italy, estimated at around +25% compared to last year and concerning mainly shears, long-handled shears, saws and tying tools for vines and kiwifruit plants. Not even the current emergency seems to be halting this trend, maybe because the high profitability of these machine is immediately tangible. An increasing number of professionals is therefore employing these technologies, so much so that we have trained technicians to provide assistance."

Perfarealbero technicians provide support (both via phone and online) and repairs in 24 hours. "We have a large warehouse of spare parts and we provide constant and complete assistance, which makes us a point of reference for professionals who choose battery-operated tools. Users save a lot on fuel and there are those who have installed a solar panel charging station to work in full autonomy. Battery-operated tools are not just for professionals as, thanks to the relatively contained costs, hobbyists can also enjoy the advantages they offer."

Pruner Angelo Luongo

Angelo Luongo, professional pruner at O.P F.lli Ancona in Policoro, has been using battery-operated tools for years. "We were a bit skeptical at first, but we soon changed our minds. Not only is work easier and more comfortable, but the tools have made working days shorter, which has also helped the company save money."

Luongo has tested the new Pellenc C35 and C45 shears. "Although the material is more robust than in the previous models, they are still lightweight. In addition, the duration of the battery was extended by 20%, just like the cutting speed. What is more, the "activ' security" system was introduced that stops the blades in case of contact with the fingers or even just with the glove. This state-of-the-art technology truly helps prune safely and without incidents. These are ultra-modern, efficient and reliable shears, and their price is more than justified."
