New Cambodia-China agricultural cooperation continues to bear fruit

Chinese citizens can now enjoy longans, bananas and mangos from Cambodia as part of a $10 billion bilateral free trade agreement recently signed between the two countries on 27 October, 2022.

Producers in western Cambodia are currently in the middle of their longan harvest season with increased orders from China following the agreement.

About 100 000 tons of longan will be exported to China this season, which is 70% of Cambodia's total production. Between 2019 to June 2022 Cambodia exported 2.4 million tons of agricultural products to China with a value of $1.942 billion.
