Gaizhou apples are popular in Thailand

Walk into the apple export base in Laoyemiao Village, Gaizhou City in late spring, and you will immediately get a rich fruity aroma. In the warehouse under constant temperature, the apples harvested in September and October 2021 are large, good in shape, red, and bright, as if they had just been picked from the tree. After some operations of fruit sorting and box sealing in the processing workshop, the apples with the logo of Gaizhou will be placed on the shelves of the streets in Bangkok, Thailand in just 7 days.

"We get orders all year round, even outside of the harvest season, thanks to the shelf-stable characteristics of Gaizhou apples. It is getting a wider international market now."

Chengwei Pan, head of Yingkou Supply and Marketing Agricultural Products Logistics Co., Ltd., said that a total of 400 standard containers of apples, nearly 10,000 tons, have been sent to Thailand since the season last autumn, with an export value of more than 20 million US dollars.

The native Yingkou Supply and Marketing Agricultural Products Logistics Co., Ltd. has been engaged in the fruit trade for several decades. With the express development of its production, trade, and export, it once became the largest apple exporter to Russia in China, occupying 20% of the Russian market share. Since 2018, the company has relocated its apples to Southeast Asia. Their products entered Thailand and opened up a booming market with red apples.

The threshold for export requires strict quality control. The company has invested more than 4 million yuan to introduce a French Maeve selection production line. In addition, the convenient international transportation channels make the cross-border journey easy.

If you choose land transportation, a large truck loaded with refrigerated containers will start from Yingkou to Kunming, and the whole journey will only take one week to leave China from Mohan port in Yunnan. If you choose to ship by sea, the cost is low and it takes a longer time.

The reefer container will be boarded in Dalian and go directly to Bangkok, and the whole process will take 18 to 20 days. As long as the order is in time, the storage-stable Gaizhou apples can manage the long transportation time.

The company has established a distribution center in Bangkok. Regardless of the mode of transportation, Gaizhou apples are packed and sealed in Yingkou and then unpacked and unloaded in Bangkok.
