An Giang Province is advancing the development of specialized fruit farming zones focusing on safe, high-quality production to enhance competitiveness and access to stringent markets. The strategy includes aiming to establish 10,000ha of specialized fruit farms by 2024. The initiative prioritizes mango, durian, and longan cultivation.
Specifically, the province plans to allocate nearly 8,950ha for mango farming across seven localities, including Chợ Mới, Tri Tôn, Tịnh Biên, An Phú, Tân Châu, Long Xuyên, Châu Phú, and Châu Thành. Collaborations with leading export entities such as Hoàng Phát Fruit Company Limited and Vina T&T Import Export Trading Service Company Limited are underway. Additionally, An Giang has developed 330ha of longan farms, 280ha of durian farms, and 145ha of citrus farms.
