“Demand for Hainan Guifei Mango has increased, and currently exceeds supply.”

The Guifei mango, cultivated in Hainan, China, made its debut on the market at the end of February, marking a production season delayed by about one month compared to previous years. Consequently, the peak market period has shifted from late March to mid-to-late April.

Hainan Guoyuan E-commerce Co., Ltd. is actively engaged in the sales and export of Guifei Mango. According to Ms. Jin Jie, a representative of the company, the demand for Guifei Mango remains robust, resulting in higher prices and persistent shortages in the market.

"Despite some adverse weather conditions, particularly last October's continuous rainfall, the impact on Guifei Mango was minimal, given its flowering period from December to January. While this year's output has slightly decreased, the quality remains consistent, boasting satisfactory levels of sweetness, taste, and aroma. However, certain orchards have experienced smaller fruit sizes due to weather fluctuations and varying management techniques," explained Jin, providing an overview of the production season.

"The popularity of Guifei Mango is steadily rising in the market. Even dealers who traditionally dealt in other mango varieties have switched to Guifei Mango this year. As a result of escalating market demand, prices have surged approximately 30% compared to last year's figures, with supplies still unable to meet the demand."

"In terms of exports, Guifei Mango continues to garner significant attention in overseas markets. This year, amidst rising base prices and increased international shipping costs, mango export prices have climbed by 30%. Nevertheless, sales remain satisfactory," Jin added, highlighting the export destinations of Singapore and the Vancouver market.

With the lucrative economic prospects presented by Guifei Mango, many fruit farmers have intensified their efforts and investments in cultivation practices. "This positive feedback loop in the market is encouraging. For instance, in our orchard, we've opted to increase costs this year by thinning out some leaves to ensure better sunlight exposure for the mangoes, resulting in redder and sweeter fruits. I firmly believe that the market demand for Hainan Guifei Mango will continue to rise," Jin remarked.

Discussing the challenges faced by the Guifei Mango market, Jin emphasized the significant trial posed by the concentrated ripening period typically commencing in May. "Given the mangoes' tendency to ripen on the trees, a substantial quantity reaches maturity within a limited timeframe, leading to a subsequent price decline to expedite sales. We are actively exploring additional channels to bolster sales and aspire to broaden our export market reach."

Hainan Guoyuan E-commerce specializes in selling various Hainan fruits, including mango, honeydew melon, wax apple, papaya, and lychee, under the brand name "Xiaoguo Tongxue." "Leveraging a vertically integrated approach encompassing planting, packaging, and sales at the source, the company maintains control over product quality and streamlines transit times. For instance, mangoes shipped to Vancouver via air transport can reach the target market within a maximum of three days from harvest."
