The National Observatory of Agriculture (Onagri) reported that from October 10, 2023, to March 11, 2024, Tunisia's citrus fruit exports generated TND 22 million, marking a 2.8% increase in value compared to the previous year. Despite the rise in value, the exported volume saw a 10% decline, dropping from 6,377 tons in 2023 to 5,738 tons in 2024.
Malta oranges dominated the export market, comprising 95% of the total citrus exports with 5,448 tons shipped. Clementines contributed to 2% of the exports, with the remainder consisting of navel, organic Maltese, and sweet orange varieties. France emerged as the primary market, receiving 97% of the exports, amounting to 5,547 tons. Libya and Qatar were also notable destinations, importing 64 tons and 59 tons, respectively.
