Breeding Trial Specialist
An enthusiastic and ‘data driven’ trial specialist
Your responsibilities
As our Breeding Trial Specialist you will manage the trialing activities for our crops, in close collaboration with our breeders to drive excellence in our trialing. You will be responsible for a successful delivery of high quality trials and the implementation of trial designs.
You will be accountable for an adequate data collection and data analysis that will enable data-based variety advancement decisions, in conjunction with the Breeding department and Product Management. You will be one of or technical experts to contribute to the variety promotion in the development stages before we proceed to commercial introduction.
You will organize internal- and external breeding trials with growers and our station managers according our trial protocols. You will deliver quality data to support data-based variety advancement decisions. You will collect the data in greenhouse/ field or from employees, wherefore you will instruct trialing technicians to secure good trial and data quality. A good trial data consolidation followed by clear recommendations for variety advancement decisions are key points in your role. The role will based in The Netherlands.

Your strong analytical and organizing skills enable you to successfully deliver high quality trials and good data to drive data-based variety advancement decisions.
You are familiar with novel horticultural technologies, data collection tools and know how to implement these in the trialing process.
You have experience with the relevant IT applications.
We are looking for candidates who
- Have a BSc degree in Horticulture or Agriculture.
- Have experience in plant variety trialing (preferably in vegetables and/or ornamental crops) and in experimental design, data analysis and assessments.
- As we are an international company, you speak fluent Dutch and English.
- Are willing to travel in the Netherlands (frequently) and internationally (about 5-10 times per year).
