Staay Food Group Growers Meeting 2024

“Closer collaboration can significantly boost revenue”

Last Friday, the Staay Food Group hosted another annual growers' day for existing business partners and interested growers in the Netherlands. Plenty of experiences were exchanged, and attendees were updated on developments at Staay. New this year were presentations by a Staay supplier (Koppert Cress) and customer (Maier GmbH).

Michiel Geraedts, the Venlo branch manager and, since January, member of the Staay Food Group's executive team, kicked off the event in the afternoon with a tour of the Staay Venlo premises. The tour included the offices, warehouse, and Cash & Carry. Guests could admire the extensive assortment and see how skillfully and quickly the order pickers process orders and prepare complete mixed pallets.

Like last year, growers and suppliers showed significant interest. After the two-hour tour, the roughly 130 visitors who had registered for the day were treated to an informal get-together at Restaurant Graef ter Horst.

Over snacks and drinks, Michiel updated the attendees on the Staay Food Group's latest developments and ambitions. "We want to keep the lines as short as possible," he says, "and are further expanding our cultivation network."

They then discussed a business case to inspire and encourage guests to work together more closely. "Closer collaboration can significantly boost revenue," Michiel concludes.
