Challenges of organic production will be at the heart of the matter in 2024

The medFEL trade show returns to the Parc des Expositions de Perpignan on April 24 and 25, 2024. For this 2024 edition, 250 exhibitors are expected, up 23% compared to last year. 5,000 visitors are expected, 6 exhibition sectors, 15 conferences, round tables, and of course the traditional peach/nectarine/apricot and melon harvest forecasts, the highlight of the show. As in previous years, trade, summer fruit crop forecasts, market trends, and societal expectations will be at the heart of the event. This year's topics will include climate change, AI, and the organic sector,

A 2024 edition showcasing all production sectors
Given the current geopolitical and climatic context, consumer expectations are changing. As a result, industry operators are faced with unprecedented technological, economic, and ecological challenges: climate change is driving "new" production, AI (artificial intelligence), the greening of our plates, and the challenges of organic production will be at the heart of the matter in 2024! 250 French and international exhibitors involved in sustainable and eco-responsible approaches are expected at medFEL, divided into 6 exhibition sectors: production, import/export, transport and logistics, packaging, processing/equipment, and engineering. This year's show will also feature the 4th and 5th ranges, along with a wider range and variety of products. The trade show is expecting 5,000 targeted visitors from the food industry (supermarkets, retailers, wholesalers, caterers, processors, etc.) to exchange ideas and forge new business partnerships. The VIP Buyers program has been renewed to enable targeted international decision-makers to meet with local operators, thus creating unprecedented business flows to boost their export sales.

This year, the program has been extended to include a Top hypermarket and supermarket buyers section, to ensure the presence of the leading retailers.

International presence
Numerous international participants will also be exhibiting at this year's show, with a new feature for 2024: a pavilion from Greece, but also Italy featuring the M.I.N. from Turin, as well as the return of the Algerian pavilion, which will be represented by its Trade and Export Promotion Office. Not to mention companies from Spain, Switzerland, Poland, Morocco and New Zealand.

The medFEL 2024 Grand Witnesses
They "will give their views on the main issues facing the profession". For this 2024 edition, they include Isabelle Autissier, who will hold a special conference on "How to keep the helm in a world in crisis" on April 24, and Tomás García Azcárate (former head of the fruit and vegetable office at the European Commission's Directorate-General for Agriculture), who will speak at a conference on "What European agricultural policy for fresh fruit and vegetables?" on April 25.
