The Netherlands boosted agricultural imports from Peru in 2023

In 2023, the Netherlands emerged as a pivotal hub for Peruvian agro-exports, marking a 9% uptick in acquisitions. The Dutch market's appetite spanned over 50 agricultural commodities, with blueberries, avocados, grapes and mangoes leading the charge, collectively accounting for 79% of the total exports. Blueberries claimed the top spot, capturing a 27% share with a shipment of 47,205 tons valued at US$ 365 million, despite a 32% dip in volume, the value surged by 12%. Avocados followed closely, comprising 25% of the exports, totaling 206,676 tons worth US$ 327 million, witnessing a 3% increase in volume and a 14% rise in value. Grapes secured the third position, contributing 15% with 83,797 tons for US$ 198 million, experiencing a 10% volume boost and a 28% value increase. Mangoes and cocoa rounded off the top five, with 7% and 5% shares, respectively.

On the logistics front, the Callao Port Terminal was the primary export conduit, handling 50% of the shipments, closely followed by the Paita Port Terminal at 48%. The Pisco Port Terminal and the Jorge Chávez Airport played minor roles, each facilitating 1% of the exports. Leading the export charge to the Netherlands were Camposol SA with a 7% contribution, Sociedad Agrícola Drokasa SA, Complejo Agroindustrial Beta SA each with 5%, Danper Trujillo SAC at 4%, and Agrovision Perú SAC covering 3% of the shipments.
