6,729.3 tons of fresh vegetables, fruits, and berries were imported into the Primorsky Krai region

Fresh produce imports in Primorsky Krai of Russia last week

According to the Primorsky Department of the Federal Rosselkhoznadzor, from March 11th to 17th, imports included 6,729.3 tons of fresh produce from various countries worldwide. Of this, 1,287.8 tons were bananas from Ecuador, doubling the amount from the previous week (673.4 tons), as reported by IA UssurMedia citing the Primorsky Department of Rosselkhoznadzor.

During this period, the region received 4,445.9 tons of fruit and vegetable products from China, including 1,546.5 tons of fresh fruits and berries. Notably, this year saw the first arrival of fresh sweet cherries from China, totalling 0.3 tons.

Imports also included 151.5 tons of grapes from India, 132.3 tons of pears and grapes from South Africa, and 106.3 tons of mandarins from Pakistan. Additionally, 605.5 tons of potatoes arrived from Pakistan.

All imported products passed quarantine phytosanitary control conducted by inspectors from the Primorsky Interregional Department of Rosselkhoznadzor.
