Peruvian blueberry production sees a decline in season 2023-2024

Problueberries, the primary industry association for Peruvian blueberries, has reported a significant decrease in blueberry production for the 2023-2024 campaign's 10th week, ending March 10. The total production stood at 221.184 tons, marking a 22% reduction from the 2022-2023 campaign and a 30% fall from the initial industry forecast made on July 5, 2023. However, this represents only a 2% decline from the industry's revised projection on January 29.

In a detailed analysis, conventional blueberry production accounted for 198.842 tons, showing a 21% decrease from the last season. Meanwhile, organic blueberry output totaled 22.342 tons, indicating a 36% drop from the previous season.
