The V National Stone Fruit Congress has published its technical program with a selection of the best experts from leading research centers, universities, and companies. Any party interested in attending the congress can read the program and register here. More than 30 speakers will present their research and solutions for the stone fruit sector.

The event, organized by Agromarketing España in collaboration with a scientific committee chaired by Cebas-Csic for this edition, will include an on-site conference at the Víctor Villegas Auditorium in Murcia (November 23) which will be broadcast live via the Agromunity.com platform. There will also be a second technical seminar (November 24) which will be 100% online.

The congress will start on Thursday, November 23 with the block dedicated to sustainable agronomic strategies. It will be followed by a second block on plant health, a coffee break so that participants can network, and a third block devoted to nutrition, biostimulants, and post-harvest. The last block of the morning will analyze varietal innovation and marketing in the sector.

Thursday the 24th will be dedicated to a high-quality online session. The session will be opened by the renowned Joan Girona (IRTA), who will discuss the efficient use of water in stone fruit trees. He will be followed in this first block by Abdelmalek Temnani (UPCT), who will analyze deficit irrigation to maximize water productivity in apricot trees; Georgina Alins (IRTA), who will discuss the role of vegetation cover, and Javier Rodrigo (CITA), who will address the pollination needs of apricot, cherry, and Japanese plum varieties.

In the second block, Álvaro Delgado (Cebas-Csic), Gemma Reig (IRTA), Juan Fernando Navarro (CARM), Antonio Villaroel (ANOVE), and Felipe Medina (ASEDAS) will discuss the importance of quantifying the accumulated cold for the production of stone fruits; varietal innovation at IRTA, protection rights for new fruit tree varieties, as well as food distribution and consumption of nuts.

The congress will conclude with an important block dedicated to international production and marketing, with leading experts from Italy, Chile, and France.
