Kwara State Government trains women and students in potato processing

The Kwara State Government, in conjunction with the Agricultural Development Project, has trained over 40 women and students on the processing of sweet potatoes into confectionaries. The one-day training workshop, held at the Ministry of Agriculture Headquarters in Ilorin, Kwara State on Wednesday, had in attendance the principal officers of the ministry, nutritionists, students and staff of the Ministry of Agriculture and ADP.

Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mallam AbdulLateef Alakawa, said the training would add value to the state government’s programs on food security. Director of Agriculture Services Alhassan Mohammed disclosed that the present administration would spare no efforts at ensuring availability of nutritious food and wellness of the people in the state.
