Georgian potato prices increasing

Potato prices in Georgia are increasing compared to the same time last year. The prices of spuds in stores costs more from 0.60 ($0.30) in 2021 to currently up to 2.5 kg ($0.92).

The price increases, caused by a lower supply in markets comes as input costs for producers are increasing too. Fertiliser and fuel prices are higher putting pressure on the margins of producers.
