Pakistan sees 300% rise in onions, 100% in tomato and garlic-ginger prices

In Pakistan the prices of staple vegetables such as onions, increased by 300%, tomatoes 100%, garlic and ginger also 100%. 

A survey done at markets in the capital city of Islamabad showed the ordinary people going under the strain of high fresh produce prices.

Onions are selling for up to Rs 220 ($0.99) per kg, before it was Rs 50 ($0.22) per kg. Tomatoes are selling at Rs200 ($0.9 per kg. Garlic at Rs 320 ($1.44) and ginger at Rs 400 ($1.8) per kg.
