Dashang Group: "The domestic supply of cherries will reach 60 tons before the Spring Festival"

In the agricultural food pavilion of the CIIE, the fruit exhibits from the Dashang Group are very shiny. According to Flora of Dashang Group, this CIIE, relying on the concept of "sharing the future in the new era" and the national exhibition open platform, Dashang Group, organized more than 20 varieties of nearly 300 kinds of its own rare products from 6 countries to participate in the exhibition, providing consumers with high-quality global rare products and delicious food.

We have a number of high-quality farms, ranches, and orchards overseas, and have established an independent supply system for global rare agricultural products from the source of origin to logistics and transportation to wholesale and retail. The group is transforming from a traditional retailer to a manufacturer and supplier, with a large number of independent property rights, self-operated business names, its own network, and its own global industrial chain of commodity resources.

“We have two self-owned orchards in Tasmania: Calthorpe Orchard and Millers Orchard, located in northern Tasmania, in the famous Tamar Valley. The orchards use well-established pest control management systems and biological control methods to the maximum extent, and chemical control methods to the minimum extent, to ensure that the products are natural and safe. Regular random sample checks on the chemical residues and microbial status of fruits to ensure that all food safety requirements are exceeded and the most advanced technical means have been used to measure and track the color, size, pressure resistance and fresh-keeping ability of cherries to ensure that the products are at their best when they reach Chinese consumers."

"The orchard's cherry packing plant is designed and built in accordance with Australian and international food safety standards, with on-site water cooling and cold-storage rooms, efficient shipping docks, skilled packers, and a comprehensive quality control system. In order to keep the cherries as fresh as possible, we will ship the cherries directly from Australia to China by air to ensure that the products have a longer shelf life.

"The main varieties of cherries are Lapins and a small amount of Regina, all of which are popular among the public. The two varieties of cherries are dark red, with a shiny appearance, firm texture, and tender flesh with good taste. In 2023, our cherry output will exceed 350 tons. Among them, the output of first-class fruit will be about 220 tons. The best cherries above 28MM will be selected and sent to China. It is expected the harvest will start on January 2, and will continue to be shipped until the end of January. Before the Spring Festival, the domestic supply will reach 60 tons.”

"In addition, we have grown a number of new high-quality apple varieties selected from major breeding programs around the world, including Envy, Jazz, Smitten and Royal Gala from New Zealand. Kanzi from Belgium. Pink Lady, Granny Smith and Tiger Fuji from Australia."

"The orchard team is led by Brent McClintock, who has spent the past 25 years working in orchards in New Zealand, Canada and Australia and exploring the greenhouse and berry industry to add to his knowledge base. He brings his experience and knowledge to the Pinnacle Fine Foods/Tamar Valley Fruits team. Brent is also a member of the Tasmanian Fruit Growers Association, the state's top industry organization, supporting fruit growers, packers and exporters in growing, harvesting and bringing their products to domestic and export markets."
