Morocco increased date production by 66% over the last twelve years

In Morocco, date production has increased by 66% in the 2020-2021 season compared to the 2008-2009 season, ending up at a total of 149,000 tons. According to the Ministry of Agriculture informed this Friday, the area destined to date palms has increased by 26% in the last twelve years.

The area under date palms increased from 50,000 hectares in 2008-2009 to 63,000 hectares in 2020-2021, explained the same source, who added that the country currently has 6 million of these trees at national level.
