The Natural Fruit Company acquired NaturGreen

The Natural Fruit Company (“TNFC”) and ALG NaturGreen (“NaturGreen”) have announced the agreement by which the latter joins the market consolidation project that TNFC has been leading over the last few years. With this agreement, TNFC, together with its main investor Fremman Capital, confirms its sustainable growth plan: the consolidation of a highly fragmented fruit distribution market in Europe, while increasing the ability to serve customers thanks to the complementarity of products and diversification from supply to the supermarket.

NaturGreen is a producer and marketer of citrus fruits based in Seville, specializing in oranges and mandarins that are harvested in bio-inclusive agricultural plantations, which are strongly committed to the protection of biodiversity. The company is at the forefront of this type of agriculture and is one of the few authorized marketers to use the WWF seal, which recognizes its commitment to sustainable production.

As a result of this integration and the recent acquisitions of SG Marzal and Hermanos Bruñó, TNFC strengthens its leading position in the main European markets, especially in France, Poland, and Germany, where it is already one of the main citrus suppliers. Thanks to the 35 million euro in sales provided by NaturGreen, the combined entity reaches sales of more than 270 million euro.

Luis Bolaños, President of NaturGreen: “We have decided to partner with TNFC given its leading position in the industry, its commitment to sustainability, management capacity, and growth ambitions. We are very happy to participate in the next stage of this exciting project.”

“We at TNFC are delighted to welcome the NaturGreen team. This agreement and the recent acquisitions of SG Marzal and Hermanos Bruñó are a clear reflection of our company's ambition to increase our presence in the market with an offer that has been adapted to the demand of increasingly sensitive customers who are aware of good practices in sustainability. Responsible and sustainable agriculture is part of our DNA and NaturGreen's proposal for bio-inclusive agriculture is fully consistent with our positioning,” stated Antonio Alarcón, CEO of TNFC.

Ricardo de Serdio, founding partner and CEO of Fremman: "Joining TNFC has reinforced our notion that great value results from the consolidation of a highly fragmented industry. Having a greater scale and size benefits our customers as we can guarantee they receive the quality, volumes, varieties, and level of service they require. That's why we'll continue to support TNFC in its strategy to become the leading operator in Europe. During our first year, we have worked closely with the management team and closed three acquisitions,” stated Ricardo de Serdio, founding partner and CEO of Fremman.
