UAE and Chile analyse their exchanges of fruits

President of ASOEX, Iván Marambio, and Hamad Alnueimi, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Chile recently met. Iván Marambio commented on the meeting: "As ASOEX we are promoting meetings with representatives of various markets around the world, especially those where we see opportunities to grow, both in terms of relationships and in volumes and fruit species."

The representative highlighted that, during the 2021-2022 season, the United Arab Emirates was the second destination for Chilean fruit in the Middle East, receiving 713.070 boxes of fresh Chilean fruit. Of this amount, 33% of the shipments corresponded to table grapes, 28% to kiwis, 18% to kiwis, 20% to apples, 15% to pears, 3% to plums and 2% to cherries, among others.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE), and mainly Dubai due to its logistical development, is the gateway to the Islamic markets of the Arab League, India, Iran and Pakistan. The UAE and the MENASA region (Middle East, North Africa and South Asia) represent a market with high potential for Chilean exports.
