High Brix degree, good yields, and long shelf life

The Italian yellow melon Rivaldo F1 by ISI Seed

The Open Day held in Valderice (Trapani), Sicily, for the presentation of Rivaldo F1 (ISI 54389), the yellow melon by ISI Sementi was held on 3 August at the farm Spada Giovanni, where visitors, such as producers, plant breeders and traders from the Trapani area, were able to see how the variety behaved in relation to the competitors used in the area.

“It was precisely from this comparison that Rivaldo's distinctive traits emerged, namely, plant health, shape and, above all, fruit quality and an excellent Brix° grade. The production yield of Rivaldo was also highly appreciated, with a good correlation between quality and quantity, aspects that are not always correlated with each other," said Adriano De Caro, sales technician.

"All the participants highlighted how the variety fully meets their needs for aspects of production, marketing and product quality.”

In particular, the traders who attended noted how Rivaldo is very well suited to the large-scale retail trade, since it has a homogeneous size and an average caliber compared to the products on the market, and also that it lends itself to being marketed in foreign markets as well, thanks to an excellent long shelf life.

Bartolo Santaera Sicily area manager asserted how the work carried out in the area has enabled producers to appreciate Rivaldo. "We believe that our yellow melon is able to meet the needs of the entire supply chain, including the most demanding group represented by the final consumer."
