As of yesterday, the first of the new season of conversion Qtee pears are available at BelOrta in Belgium. It is the second consecutive year that this early pear variety is being offered under "EARTH", the fresh fruit and vegetables in conversion project's, label.
These first conversion Qtee pears going on sale also marks the beginning of BelOrta's organic division's 2022 top fruit season. Due to early harvesting, these pears kick off the new campaign a few weeks before the Conference pears start. The Qtee pear season runs until November.
These red-blushed, crisp-tasting pears were first planted in 2015 and are a nice addition to the assortment. This year, they are still being marketed under the EARTH label for products in conversion. From next year, however, the conversion period is over, and these pears will be sold as organic.
