Fruit and vegetable truck burns out after crash on Bruce Highway

A supermarket truck carrying fruit and vegetables has burst into flames after being struck by a four-wheel-drive, partially blocking the Bruce Highway overnight. Police said the four-wheel-drive struck the back of the truck just before midnight, and both vehicles exploded into flames at Coles Creek, west of Noosa.

A police spokesman said the impact of the crash caused a fire, and the truck's load was destroyed. The burnt wreckage of a 4WD and a truck on a highway at night, with embers still glowing nearby.

Three Queensland Fire crews helped put out the flames, which were still being damped down four hours after the initial crash. The scene was made safe and fire crews left just after 6am.
