Petrolina, Pernambuco state:

Growers rely on new technology that guarantees more quality for exports

A new technology has benefited agricultural producers in Petrolina, in the Sertão of Pernambuco. The use of a technique called “Bound Element Analysis” identifies the amount of nutrients available in the cells of fruits such as grapes, mangoes, melons and tomatoes. This assessment makes it possible to predict whether the product will withstand long distances or longer exposure time in cold rooms and shelves, while waiting for export.

Brought from the United States, the “Bound Element Analysis” can leverage the fruit export market in the São Francisco Valley. According to the agronomist and managing partner of the laboratory that performs the analyses, the technique will allow producers in the São Francisco Valley to be able to export the fruit with much more tranquillity, and seek new markets further away, such as Asia.
