Dole offers free pineapples on National Pineapple Day

Charlotte, North Carolina-based Dole Food Company celebrates its 172-year pineapple legacy by giving away 500 DOLE® pineapples to local residents in honor of June 27’s designation as National Pineapple Day. The pineapples are available first-come, first-serve to anyone lining up in front of Dole’s headquarters on S. Tryon Street in Uptown Charlotte on the June 27 holiday from noon to 2 p.m. EDT. Pineapples are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, one pineapple per person, while supplies last.

Dole’s history dates back to James Drummond Dole’s arrival in Oahu, Hawaii in 1850 to establish a pineapple business. The company has since grown into one of the world’s largest providers of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Pineapple recipients can find dozens of free Dole pineapple recipes here including the popular DIY Dole Whip and Fresh Upside-Down Pineapple Cake.
