James Cornies joins North American seed company

Van den Bosch Seeds announces James Cornies as new crop specialist for Ontario. James Cornies will be responsible for customer relations in his home province of Ontario, and his role will include product and variety technical support to greenhouse vegetable growers.

For thirty years, James owned and operated Cornies Farms Ltd, a mid-sized greenhouse facility in Kingsville Ontario that was started in 1956 by his grandfather. Cornies Farms specialized in growing long English and cocktail cucumbers. He also served as the vice-chairman for the Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers.

“We are very excited to have James join our company.
His nearly 3 decades of greenhouse growing experience will be an asset and will greatly benefit our growth in the southern Ontario region,” said Ben van den Bosch, van den Bosch Seeds’ COO.

Van den Bosch Seeds offers strong emerging long English cucumber varieties for the Ontario greenhouse segment. These include Brisbane, Darwin and VS570. Along with both long English and cocktail cucumbers, van den Bosch Seeds also offers multiple series of hybrid snack peppers and tomatoes, including the newest being black grape and cocktail tomato varieties.
