Photo report International Food & Drink Event 2024

This week the International Food & Drink Event took place in the Excel, London. The event was a huge gathering of all things food and drink aimed at the catering industry with stands from all over the world.

This year there was a section dedicated to the fresh produce sector. This was organised by The Fresh Produce Consortium with an aim to highlight the importance of the sector for the food service industry. FPC's Fresh Produce Hub, was well received, offering businesses a unique platform to connect with retailers and buyers from various sectors, including wholesale, foodservice, pubs, and catering.

The second day of IFE 2024 showcased premium produce and industry expertise. Notable companies participating within the fresh produce section included BelOrta, Florette, Chiquita, and Dole, among others. These exhibitors represented a broad spectrum of the industry, bringing their latest products and solutions to the forefront.

The Spitalfields New Tenant Association supplied a selection of fresh fruit and vegetables for the welcome points. Additionally, the team at EFCIS was recognised for sponsoring the FPC Fresh Produce lounge, offering attendees a chance to enjoy brewed beverages in a relaxed setting.

It is hoped that in coming years the number of fresh produce companies exhibiting will increase.

"There hasn't been an event to promote our industry in the UK for a few years," said Nigel Jenney, CEO of the Fresh Produce Consortium. "So far the feedback has been great. We hope to build on this in the coming years. It is an opportunity for growers and suppliers to find new customers."

As well as the companies on the FPC stand there were a few well known companies promoting the fresh, ingredients and fresh juice sides of their businesses. There were also packing companies and tech companies.
