From Madrid and Barcelona 22 exhibiting companies

Spanish wholesalers look to Macfrut for apples, grapes and kiwis

The next edition of Macfrut will see the participation of twenty-two Spanish wholesalers from the Madrid and Barcelona markets. And although Spain has been exporting fruit and vegetables to Italy for several decades, it is also true that there is a demand for certain products at certain times of the year. The most sought-after products from Italy are apples, kiwis and table grapes. Therefore, their presence at Macfrut in Rimini will be of great interest to those exporters who can meet their requirements.

Presentation of Macfrut to the wholesalers of the Barcelona Fruit and Vegetable Market

In the last few days, a delegation from Macfrut visited the Madrid and Barcelona Fruit and Vegetable Markets, the largest in Spain and one of the most important wholesale markets in Europe. On this occasion, the President Renzo Piraccini and the staff of the Foreign Office presented to the operators the exhibition and the international business opportunities that the Rimini exhibition offers year after year. The interest shown by wholesalers was considerable and 22 companies have already registered to take part in the 41st edition of the fair, which will be held at the Rimini Expo Centre from 8 to 10 May 2024.

"The interest of the wholesalers," says Piraccini, "most of whom also have an external warehouse that they use for modern distribution, is to meet exporters of apples, kiwis and table grapes, which are the most sold Italian products in the Spanish market. There is also great interest from exporters from Africa or Latin America, who use the general markets as a service platform."

Presentation at the Mercamadrid

Among these, the following will be present at Mercamadrid: Grupo Guerrero, Eurobanan, Frutos Hermanos Montes, Frutas Candil, Cherry World, Frutinter, SAT Agricola Perichan, Patatas Meléndez. Mercabarna invece: CMR group, Frutas Diego Martínez, Hermanos Fernández, Cultivar, Fruiver, Frutas y Hortalizas Flores, Iberian Premium Fruits (naranjas torres).

"The special format of the fair is highly appreciated," says Macfrut, "especially by medium-sized companies, which are not only looking for business contracts but also for new information, and they particularly appreciate the B2B platform set up for exhibitors, which allows them to plan meetings before the event takes place."
