Agricultural social responsibility symposium begins work in Guadalajara

The inaugural ceremony for the 5th annual Agricultural Social Responsibility Symposium occurred yesterday in Guadalajara, Jalisco. The AMHPAC Agricultural Social Responsibility Symposium explores the trends and challenges in sustainability, which will define the direction of the agricultural production industry, given that 2024 promises a significant evolution in this area.

The Inaugural Ceremony was attended by representatives of some of the most important organizations in the agricultural sector, including:

  • Marco Valerio Pérez Gollaz, head of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare of Jalisco (STPS Jalisco).
  • Juan Pablo Molina Baranzini, vice president of the labor area of ​​the National Agricultural Council (CNA).
  • Marion Avril, president of the International Horticultural Alliance for the Promotion of Social Responsibility (AHIFORES).
  • Juan José Flores García, general director of the National Association of Berry Exporters (ANEBERRIES).
  • Carlos Visconti, general director of Agrícola El Rosal.
  • Liliana Díaz, director of the Agricultural Council of Baja California (CABC).
  • Esther Escárzaga García, national manager of Agricultural Alliances (BAMX).
  • Alfredo Díaz Belmontes, general director of the Mexican Association of Protected Horticulture (AMHPAC).

During the event, about 150 participants from different states of the Mexican Republic were trained. The program's content was targeted mainly to directors, managers, coordinators and managers of the social responsibility area of ​​the agricultural sector.

This fifth edition of the Symposium was consolidated as a platform for training and being updated on social responsibility trends in the sector.

Some of the topics included in the program are:

  • T-MEC
  • Staff retention
  • Labor reforms
  • Efficient use of water
  • Good farming practices
