Javier Medina, President of Association of Producers and Packers Jalisco Avocado, recently spoke about the bulk export of avocados to the United States, regarding the occasion of the Super Bowl.
He said: “There are about 130,000 tons that will be exported between Michoacán and Jalisco”
Avocados from Jalisco are of excellent condition at this point in time, the same as those from Michoacán, which was traditionally the only state that exported avocados to the United States. He pointed out that there are now certified orchards and that every day there are more municipalities in Jalisco that receive these permits.
Although Mexican producers are in no hurry to accelerate sales, there is of course a firm intention to maintain constant growth. The Super Bowl takes place on February 12 in Glendale, Arizona.
