Additional Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo:

“Jammu farmers should increase diversification of crops”

Yesterday, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture Production Department, Atal Dulloo said there is a great scope for the horticulture sector, especially the strawberry and plantation of high-density orchards of guavas and litchis, in the Ranbir Singh Pora area of Jammu.

He said the Department is supporting farmers both financially and technically and they should take the benefit of this. He asked the farmers to adopt the diversification of crops in their fields so that they can earn during the whole year.

Dullo conducted an extensive tour of the R.S. Pora area and inspected the orchards of limes, strawberries, guavas and figs at Kadyal and Badyal villages.

Atal Dulloo emphasized the planting of strawberries, saying this is a short-duration crop and by adopting its cultivation, farmers can enhance their income greatly.
