Bangladesh saw income from exports on vegetables dip to a six-year low between July-October, dropping by 60% to only $15 million compared to $38 million last year. High airfreight rates and increased prices impacted their earnings.

Air shipments to Middle Eastern and European markets in the first four months of fiscal 2022-23 dropped by 60%, data from their Export Promotion Bureau shows. Airfreight rates increased by 40% over the last year. Fuel prices also increased, causing a further reduction in income for producers.
