November apple storage down compared to last year

According a survey from the US Apple Association, the total number of apples in storage on November 1, 2022, was 144 million bushels, 7.1 percent less than last November’s total of 155.1 million bushels and 13.2 percent less than the five-year average for that date.

Fresh apple holdings this November totaled 103 million bushels, 5.8 percent less than the inventories reported for last November. Processing holdings totaled 41 million bushels, 10.2 percent less than last year on November 1.

This report captures more than 95 percent of the national storage capacity. The US Apple Association thanks all participants and welcomes suggestions and comments about how to improve it.
