Due to China's strict Covid-19 protocols, with no cross border movement allowed, Myanmar has lost the watermelon market right at the time when monsoons are also hitting the country.
They have to sell the fruit in their local market where prices are much lower. The monsoon season also leads to less production further harming Myanmar producers.
