The Greek kiwi season is kicking off. Christos Mitrosilis, CEO of Greek fruit exporter Mitrosilis, states that there were no issues leading up to their kiwi season: “For Mitrosilis, the kiwi harvest has begun. For the past weeks our specialized agronomists have been monitoring the situation in the fields regarding dry matter, brix and ripening level of the fruits. As the parameters to begin harvesting of kiwi in most Greek regions have been met, we are glad to announce that our company has kicked off the kiwi season. We didn’t face any problems in general with the weather conditions, just in some isolated areas that didn’t affect the production at all. We’ve received feedback that the Greek kiwi is nowadays recognizable by end consumers as a high quality product and customers are seeking for Greek brands.”
Asia Fruit Logistica is coming up next week and Mitrosilis will be an exhibitor. The company will use the event as a chance to introduce this season’s produce. “This year we are expecting to have a good production of kiwi in terms of quantity and quality. Based on our strong knowledge and understanding of the product and also our constant research on every new development multi-level, we aim to expand our exporting activity this year to over 4.500 tons. Furthermore, we will participate in the upcoming Asia Fruit Logistica in Bangkok (Booth P36), so we are inviting everyone to visit us in our Booth P36 to chat and express ideas,” Mitrosilis concludes.
