Christophe Belloc, Blue Whale:

“The future lies in well-orchestrated shelves”

At Fruit Attraction, Blue Whale promoted its Candine apple, but the cooperative also communicated about its many other varieties of apples and pears: Cœur de Reine, Envy, Ruby Gold, QTee pears…

Investing further in the orchestration of the shelves
“For us, it is essential to develop the fruit shelves by working on the entire department. I truly believe that the future lies in well-orchestrated shelves, as we do with some of our clients already,” explains Christophe Belloc, president of Blue Whale.

Besides, in a context where international competition is increasing on the fruit market, Blue Whale is doing well. “We continue to invest locally in our offices in Asia and Latin America, in order to be always closer to the needs of our clients.”

Adapting to weather conditions: a challenge for the sector
In the middle of the apple harvest, Christophe Belloc has also shared his analysis of the current campaign. “With the high temperatures of this summer, the apple season started early. In terms of taste, the high level of sunshine has favored exceptionally high sugar levels and calibers that are bigger than last year. Between weather hazards and soaring production costs, the challenges are great but Blue Whale is already working hard to anticipate them, agronomically and technically, in the orchards,” explains Christophe Belloc.
