A China-Europe freight train with reefer containers departed from Xiamen on Wednesday. It will travel from East China’s Fujian Province to Moscow and marks the first international cold-chain freight train departing from Fujian.
The train, which transports vegetables, fruits and other food products, will leave China from the Chinese border city Manzhouli and arrive in Moscow in 15 days. The freight train is equipped with reefer containers; their location can be tracked by satellite navigation and real-time temperature and humidity in containers can be monitored online at any time.
An official from China Railway Nanchang Group said that the train can help deliver vegetables and fruit -among other things- from Fujian to overseas market in the fastest and most efficient way. He added that rail authorities will actively promote the operation of such freight trains on China-Europe route, expand the breadth and depth of the reefer container logistics service network coverage, and meet the diversified transportation needs of customers.
