Futura srl at Fruit Attraction together with its Spanish partner ALSI from El Ejido

An Italian-Spanish collaboration on the technological front

For the first time, the Italian company Futura will attend Fruit Attraction with its Spanish partner ALSI of El Ejido (Hall 10 - stand 10C11A). "The purpose of this presence with ALSI," says Omar Papi, CEO of Futura, "is to bring together the long-standing experiences of the two companies (more than 60 years in the industry) and to attempt to enter the market in southern Spain, such as Alicante, Murcia, Malaga, Granada, Cordoba, Seville, Huelva y Badajos and Canary Islands, mainly for facilities for the processing of summer and tropical fruits, such as avocados, mangoes and pitaya.

He continues, "We decided to have a stronger direct presence this year with a very specific purpose. At the moment, Futura sells its electronic sorters in the Spanish market only through its distributors in the Lleida area, mainly for summer fruits; with ALSI, at the moment, we only build systems for tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers in the Almeria area."

From the headquarters in El Ejido, with a staff of about 50 people, Futura will produce all the necessary equipment placed before and after the sorters, and will supervise the commercial aspect as well as the assembly, installation and technical assistance service.

ALSI has also gained a very long experience in robotics. "It has been embedded in our fruit and vegetable processing lines for more than 10 years. We use robots mainly to have maximum flexibility and labor reduction."

In addition, the second step of the renewed collaboration will be to strive for continuous operations in South America as well, with new local partners, some of which have already been identified. The main target markets will be Peru, Chile, Mexico, and Costa Rica.

"The key factors we are focusing on are without a doubt the very high quality of our products, our many years of experience, availability and flexibility, without ever overlooking that the customer will never be just a number to us,” concluded Papi.
