The Spanish city of Valencia will become the avocado capital on Wednesday May 25 on the occasion of the celebration of the 2nd International Avocado Cultivation Day, organized by the Association of Avocado Producers (ASOPROA) and the Valencian Association of Agricultural Producers (AVA-ASAJA) under the title 'The future of avocados in Spain'.
The event, which is already open for registration, will feature prestigious experts from the research and academic world, as well as from the world of business. They will analyze the main challenges ahead for this growing crop. The conferences and debates will focus on the upward outlook of the production, the need to promote a national product brand and the challenges for the crop in Spain.
Agronomic aspects such as the pollination as a determining factor in avocado fruit setting, irrigation and soil management, pruning strategies to improve the production and integrated management of wood fungi will also be analyzed.
