A large walnut plantation being set up in Navoi region of Uzbekistan

In the Nurata district of the Navoi region of Uzbekistan, a project on establishing a walnut plantation with an area of 200 hectares is being implemented with a total investment estimated at $500,000, EastFruit experts report.

The administration of the Nurata district approved the initiative of the company with foreign capital LLC “Angora agro industrial” to establish a large walnut plantation. The founder of the company is an investor from Turkey. According to preliminary estimates, the total investment in the project will amount to $500 000, Xalq so’zi (People’s Word) reports. According to the source, plantations of walnuts with a white core and thin skin will be laid.

“To create a walnut plantation, we studied the composition and state of the soil on a territory of 1 500 ha. In the end, we chose a plot of 200 ha, and this season we plan to plant 50 000 seedlings there,” Turkish investor Musayid Fatin explained.

We remind you that at the end of January 2023, EastFruit wrote about the implementation in the same district of the Navoi region of Uzbekistan of a large project for growing lavender and rose hips on plantations of 500 ha, followed by processing to obtain oils from them. The total cost of the project is estimated at $2.5 million.

The project initiated by the “FHH garden flower” company is implemented in two stages. The first one includes work on improving the fertility of the land, installation of an irrigation system, and laying of plantations of lavender and wild rose. In the second stage, lines for the production of lavender and rosehip oils will be constructed, installed, and launched. The company plans to produce 25 000 liters of lavender and rosehip oil per year. All products will be exported.
