"The DEDEBIO organic figs come from a long-standing project partner in Turkey, whose farm is located in the region around Izmir. The variety grown there is considered very aromatic and one of the best in the world. The figs are particularly tender, juicy and delicious," product manager Antje Garlichs of DEDEBIO International tells us.
The organic company was founded in 2021 by Managing Director Orhan Yilmaz, who has been in the organic industry for over 40 years. "The cooperation between our managing director Orhan Yilmaz and local growers has existed for decades," Garlichs said. Because of this, the young company can rely on a long supply capability as well as outstanding quality, he added.

"Our organic figs have attracted the interest of our customers from the very beginning. We can enjoy a steadily growing customer base, especially since we have relevant quantities available." The organic company can offer the figs all year round, although demand is particularly high at harvest time in late summer, he said. The price for figs is at a stable medium level. Major fluctuations are not expected.
Currently, the figs are offered in 4-kg boxes as well as in 10-kg cartons. "The 4-kg boxes are also marketed as unpackaged boxes. This means that our organic figs are also offered as unpackaged goods in smaller organic stores, for example. In the future, we will also sell the figs in end consumer packaging."
The main customers for the figs are organic specialty retailers and organic wholesalers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. "Demand for organic products is also steadily increasing in conventional food retailing. From the beginning, we set out to be broadly available to consumers."
