Unseasonal rains worries onion and mango growers

Unseasonal rains hit parts of Vaijapur, Soygaon and Gangapur subdivisions across the district, which has resulted in damage to standing Rabbi crops. Fear has spread among hundreds of mango and onion farmers due to the presence of rains since last two days. According to the information provided by the Meteorological Department, more rain has been predicted in Maharashtra for the next three days.

In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district, the rains were accompanied by lighting at isolated places in Vaijapur, Soigaon and Gangapur subdivisions. This resulted in large loss of blossom and small sized mango fruit Rain is also forecast at some places in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jabaa and Ahmednagar districts. In Vidarbha, Akola, Buldhana and Amravati districts are also predicted to receive rain with lightning.
