Agrícola Cerro Prieto shipped out its 1,000th container of fresh blueberries of the season

Agrícola Cerro Prieto has just set a record, exporting its 1.000th container of fresh blueberries (16 tons each container) in its 2022/2023 campaign. General manager Alfredo Lira Chirif has pointed out that at the end of this campaign (2022/2023) they expect to dispatch around 20.500 tons of fresh blueberries (to date there are already 16.000 tons), which would mean an increase of 70% compared to the 12.000 tons dispatched in the previous campaign (2021/2022).

These higher fruit shipments are due to higher volumes due to the new areas that came into production, and other areas that are reaching their production peak. The main destination market for the company's blueberries is the United States.

Agrícola Cerro Prieto has 1.400 hectares of blueberries, of which 1.250 are in Chepén (La Libertad) and 150 hectares in the Santa Rosa irrigation system.
