The series of presentations of Macfrut 2023 to South American countries ended in Venezuela after touching the Dominican Republic, Panama, Colombia, Chile and Peru. The 40th edition of the international fair to be held at the Rimini Expo Centre (May 3-5) will focus on the Latin American continent thanks to the Latin American Days event and a whole hall dedicated to the area.
Venezuela will take part in the 2023 edition with a dozen companies, after a positive experience last year, when the country participated for the first time after the US ban (2015) that limited business relations.
"After a few difficult years, Venezuela is going through a period of social tranquility and economic recovery. Fresh produce could play a considerable role for its growth. Venezuela is a considerable producer of exotic fruit (mainly bananas, pineapples and avocados) with thriving potato and salad crops along the Andes. They are looking for our technology to increase volumes and especially to develop their production for the domestic market," explains Renzo Piraccini, President of Macfrut.
The mission included Macfrut President Renzo Piraccini, Cermac President Enrico Turoni and the Venezuela ambassador to Italy Maria Elena Uzzo. Macfrut was presented to the Ministry of Agriculture Wilmar Castro Soteldo, CIIP President (Centro Internacional de Inversiones Productivas) and the Bancoex (Banco del Commercio Estero) Management.
