Dutch company takes official use of new building

"This move signals the start of developing new cleaning systems"

On Friday, January 20, in the Netherlands, LETS took official use of its new building. The company, which specializes in cleaning technology for the food industry, did so via an open day for its customers and families. "A very successful day with, despite the harsh weather in some parts of the country, a nice turnout," begins Guustaaf Hoekstra.

The LETS team.

LETS relocated in November already but did not officially celebrate this until last week. Johan and Hilda Leeffers, who founded the company more than 40 years ago, did the honors. "We did a last few things, and from 1:30 pm, our business partners began arriving to see how everything works. At 4 pm, it was the families' turn. We shared a lovely meal, ending the day on a great note. I was pleasantly surprised with the general turnout. People dared go out in the snow, as the more than 300 cups of coffee our barista served proves," says Guustaaf.

The new building.

This move gave this hygiene specialist a significant boost. "We were quite cramped and had to move. We decided to completely remodel this new location with the future in mind. It's a two-floor, eye-catching modern building with lots of light. The upper floor includes the offices, canteen, and a meeting room, all slightly larger. The first floor houses the more divided workshops but doesn't sacrifice good contact between the departments."

Hilda and Johan Leeffers cut the ribbon with their grandson's help.

LETS now has a 550+ m2 production space. "There's a large 850m2 warehouse with separate loading and unloading docks, too," explains Guustaaf. "So, logistically, everything's streamlined. We also have a 300m2 test area and showroom, which greatly adds value."

This allows the company to look further toward a bright future. "Hygiene has always been important in the food sector but got an extra boost with COVID-19. Still, your developments have to keep up with what's required. This new building will let us move forward for a while. We also have an adjacent plot of land, so we could always expand further. This move signals the start of developing new systems in the field of cleaning. We can roll those out worldwide and thus keep growing," Guustaaf concludes.
