The Chinese port of Dalian opens a direct sea route to import cherries from Chile

The Xinhua Agency has reported that the GSL Tinos ship, loaded with 616 TEUs of Chilean cherries, docked at the container terminal in Dalian after a 22-day journey.

592 TEUS of cherries will be supplied directly to wholesale markets in China and the remaining will be transferred to the Republic of Korea through the Port of Dalian.

According to Liaoning Port, the owner of the Port of Dalian, in the past Chilean cherries were distributed to the Chinese market mainly through ports such as Busan, in the Republic of Korea, and Shenzhen, in China. “The opening of this direct sea route will provide a faster service for customers in the northeast and north of China.”
