James Hinsby - Scotts Precision Manufacturing

"It presents us with new cropping challenges using a tried and tested design and unique materials which are gentle on the crop"

After their first appearance at Fruit Logistica in 2022, Scotts Precision Manufacturing saw that this is a key event for them to help international customers with pre-cleaning solutions for their fruit and vegetable crops.

"The Evolution Separator is world class at removing soil and debris from a range of cropping in both wet and dry conditions," explains James Hinsby from EU Sales and Support. "Initially we specialized on cleaning solutions for potato crops, but quickly found demand for a large range of other crops such as onions, carrots, swede, peppers, beets, sweet potato, cabbage, apples, and tomatoes to name a few."

James said they were quite amazed at the range of crops and how international the customer base of Fruit Logistica was in 2022 and the Scotts Precision Manufacturing team are looking forward to this year’s event.

"It presents us with new cropping challenges using a tried and tested design and unique materials which are gentle on the crop but have flexibility and huge cleaning capability."

"With huge changes in digital sorting technology, the use of Optical sorters in particular, the Evolution Separator is vital for removing difficult sticky soils, Haulm, leaf and stone that can be so damaging to camera grading technology. Removing this “noise” is a vital role in helping get the most out of grading and packing lines after the initial pre grading."

Scotts Precision Manufacturing currently export worldwide, with established trade in UK, EU, North America, South Africa and Australasia. "Our focus is on Europe, offering faster support using our newly set up EU base in Austria, as well as emerging international markets that are now, once again, attending the event."
